: punch bowl

: Tin-glazed earthenware punch bowl. It has sloping sides rounding under to a foot ring. It is painted in blue, manganese, white on pale bluish glaze and has a tan edge. In the interior painted in blue: ' One // Bowl more // And then ' within a squared surround of bianco-sopra-bianco ogee scrolls and a deep border of bianco-sopra-bianco interlace. On the exterior is a chinoiserie landscape a square building, a willow tree on a rock, a pagoda, a bamboo tree with cracked-ice fences, a sprouting rock. There is a smaller motif of a sprouting rock.
