: Bowl-shaped with plain loop handle. Painted in underglaze blue, onglaze orange-red, turquoise, green and gilding with 'Japan'-style decoration: four blue panels with red ovals, alternating with four white panels with blue ovals; two of the white panels have a turquoise-leaved tree, the other two painted with fine red trellis enclosing flower heads; the blue all finely gilded with bird & prunus, lotus, trellis, scrolls. Inside, a scroll-bordered circle containing a flower and bud; red detailing on handle; gilt rim.
