: Britton shape I. Painted in blue, red, green and yellow on an off-white glaze: in centre, a chinoiserie island scene with a tall building and man fishing from a small boat; wide border of diaper-and-dot pattern reserving six shaped panels each containing a flower stem with rhomboidal leaves, and six small circles each containing a single flower. Pinkish glaze on back. Underrim markings: noughts and crosses. '4' painted within footrim.
