: Victory Parade album
: The photographs in this album depict a parade of troops, beginning with Brigadier Winthrop reading on a dais surrounded by fellow officers, before inspecting a parade of troops as they march past. There are a number of shots of seated spectators, possibly HEW's family. The parade then enters a built-up area, possibly a bazaar, and there are images of a military band marching past crowds of spectators. The banners overhead suggest this might be a WW2 victory parade, as they include "Stalin Gate", "Victory Greetings" and "Down with the Japs." There are also several images of presentations to Indian and European children, possibly by Mrs Winthrop.
