Dance ratlle made from cocoons tied together on white plastic string
Raphia cloth made of four rectangular pieces sewn together. All have a design of coloured stripes woven into their structure in shades of dyed brown and undyed raphia. The warp and weft are exposed at the edges creating a fringe. Old card reads - "in 5 pieces Ea8985-8989" Collected by Rev. Kenred Smith in Northern Democratic Republic of Congo when it was the Congo Free State and later Belgian Congo. He was primarily based at Bopoto (Upoto) Station, a Baptist Missionary Society post on the Upper River from the years 1896 - 1914.
Round leather shield covered with doeskin(?). Suspended from the back is a horsetail. Front of the shield is painted with a circular design in centre with dots inside it, and also two paintings of animals in blue, green and yellow. Probably has amulet under the doeskin.
Trough shaped drum (hollowed-out semi-circle with pointed base and foot) Carved decoration on drum (crescent shape at each end).
Ground stone implement, wedge-shaped. "These implements are regarded with great reverence by the natives who beblieve them to be thunderbolts" (H Bolton?)
Cotton and satin wrap dress. Cotton is indigo and satin is possibly from a cut up headscarf which depicts the Queen and royal crests like the unicorn and the crown. The satin has green, red, yellow, blue and white.
Boy's shirt. Multi-coloured pattern, including pale pink, dark pink, grey, yellow, lime green and dark green. Pale pink embroidery around the nek and centre of the chest. Small diamonds scattered across the front and back in white, dark pink and yellow. Part of a 3-piece outfit with hat and trousers.
Small rectangular strip of birch bark with 4 rows of incised pictographs, zoomorphic, human, three painted red, one yellow.

Shell shank, turtleshell barb and coil of sinnet. Shell fish hook, the body of which (shell) is detached from the hook part (turtleshell). These 2 separate pieces are joined by thin twisted cord which is inserted into one or both holes in the hook (one at top, one at bottom) and then inserted into a hole at one end of the shell body. This thin cord continues and coils around a looping bundle of plaited sinnet (a dark shade).
