Light blue dish Jingdezhen, southeast China Ming dynasty, Wanli reign mark and period, dated AD 1591

This dish has a special mark on the bottom, saying that it was made in the year 1591 and owned by the Ru family. Unfortunately we don’t know who they were, but we do know that dishes in other sizes were made for them with the same glaze and mark. Two larger ones are in the British Museum. Porcelain, underglaze blue mark, light blue glaze. Bequeathed by Mr F. P. M. Schiller.
