Parian ware: flower brooch in unglazed porcelain, a process invented in Burslem (Staffs) c.1850 but proving too fragile for jewellery, as this damaged brooch shows.

Wedgewood: two brooches and a finger-ring (hall-marked Birmingham 1879), using casting and also the cameo principle.

Glazed butterfly wing, silver-mounted: two pendants and a brooch using natural iridescence for effect: English c.1920-1930.

Ivory, imitation turquoise: a set comprising brooch, buckle and ear-rings. c.1900-1920.

Plastic: Tie-pin, cat-on-a-goldfish-bowl; cosmetic bangle (the metal band slides round to cover hollows for various face-paints); bangle with fish among plants carved on inside, possibly by Chanel, Paris; and a small winged insect brooch. All c.1910-1930.

Glass and horn: winged insect brooch by GIP of Paris, the body of glass set in resin, the wings made of carved horn. c.1920-1930.
