The Wills Memorial Building, part of the University of Bristol, was completed in 1925. Its architect, George Oatley, deliberately sited his magnificent tower so that it is seen to its best advantage from the Park Street approach. The style is Perpendicular Gothic Revival and it took a mere decade to build. The monumental tower is one of Bristol's great landmarks, seen on the skyline when approaching Bristol from several directions. Compare to Rowbotham's view of St Mark's, from around 1826, M2592.
