: Stoneware tobacco jar inscribed/stamped into the main body 'James Wilson. America. Feb, 16th, 1881'; cylindrical body with heavy moulding around the top and bottom. It has a high-domed cover with a conical finial. The jar is disc-form pressed with a flat base and concave upper surface. It is hollow with a tapered grip with a ridged surface. The lid has moulded sprigged decoration on the lid. There are moulded flowers and leaves on the body as well as a two lion-mask loop. At the top centre of the body of the jar there is a banner with 'tobacco' embossed on it.
