: Swahili textile from ?Tanzania/Tanganyika, a Kanga or Kanika. Rectangular printed cotton cloth, double length, white dotes to show cutting line. Blue and purple ground and a narrow purple edge. On the cloth are two 1385mm panels, side by side. Each panel has a central design of a white leaf with lettering underneath - "AKIBA SI UBAHILI NI NUSU YA AKIBA". The background is a blue and purple op-art chequered design and on the border is a design of stripes and a wave pattern.Printed in white on the selvedge is "MITSUI DESIGN NO. PD 45262"
