: Watercolour of Te Kuka Te Mea, a Maori chief from Ngāti Rangi (Tauranga, central North Island). The painting shows his full moko (facial tattoo), a pounamu ear ornament and a rain cape over his shoulder, perhaps European clothing underneath. Painted from life by General Robley, 1864.
