: Dish of porcelain with six lobes with brown 'lip rougue' glaze along rim (Japanese: fuchibeni ??). Decorated in underglaze blue with a design of a circle of two sprays of peony flowers with buds in centre. The border is divided into six panels with alternating images of young pine behind blue clouds, and a tree with plum blossom behind leafy grasses. The underside is decorate dwith a continuous scroll. There are lines along with footring. Within the footring enclosed in a large circle is a spiral fuku (Japanese: ?) 'luck' mark in a double square. There are six spur marks on the base. A note left by the collector, Irene Finch (1918-2019) reads: 'I Precursor'. Another sticker reads: 'GERALD BUSHELL COLLECTION' and on it in Irene Finch's handwriting: '97/73 50 repaired? repained. 1750s.'
