18th century rectangular brass shoe buckles. Hinged centre crossbar and prongs. Beaded semi-circular decoration on the sides. The shoe buckle would be attached to two straps which they secured over the instep of the shoe. When in use, only the decorative frame of the buckle was visible, while the straps hid the middle bar and prongs.

Sepia real photo postcard, titled "Grave of W.J. Muller, Bristol artist, Brunswick Sq." near bottom edge at left, in white. View shows the carved slate (?) gravestone of William James Muller, died 08/09/1845 aged 33 years. Series no. 571 printed at bottom right corner. Postally unused.

Cardboard box containing gas mask or respirator (TD5437.1). Plain buff / brown coloured cardboard, with four metal staples at one corner holding box together. Opens at the top and bottom, but is embossed 'TOP' on one opening. Printed instructions on storage and use on inside of lid. Contains additional piece of cardboard with circular hole through to hold the respirator part of the mask. This mask and box is the type widely issued to civilians, and is different to the civilian duty gas masks and to the armed services masks.
