Elaborately decorated Valentines card. Features cherubs, ferns, and a lady's portrait. Message on the front is 'YOUR LOVE/ MY HAPPINESS'. Handwritten inside; 'St. Ives Feb. 14./67 Except this as a Tribute of affection Yours. [SC?) Valentine'.

Watercolour sketch of 'Corporal Vines, 24th Regiment, recruiting. Essex Serpent Westminster.' c.1850. He is sat in uniform at a table with his left arm resting on it. Possibly by Edward Villiers Rippingille (judging from similar style to TD4865, in conjunction with K497). Written on the back is 'This [Regt] suffered severely in India in 1849 half the regiment being cut up at the battle of Officers. Rank and file.'

Watercolour. Double-sided. One side shows a military musician sitting on a drum. 24th Regiment, c.1850. Reverse shows 6 studies of hands, 4 of which are painted, the other 2 remain in pencil. Pencil inscription; 'Studies for my picture of the Recruiting party- exhibited in London and sold to a Bristol Art Museum'. The rest is illegible but possibly refer to a 'holder'. Artist unknown.
