Rectangular chocolate tin - printed in red, gold and blue with embossed head of Queen Victoria and the following text; 'South Africa 1900 - I wish you a Happy New Year Victoria R'. Inside are the original contnts - 6 bars of chocolate in silver foil and paper, with 'FRY' moulded in surface.

Chocolate box. Rectangular chocolate box with a suggested date written on the back 1890. The box has bright pink papered sides and the lid surface is covered with a colour print showing the head of a girl wearing a fancy hat incorporating frills, ribbons, flowers and a brown centerpiece. She is wearing a blue-coat with a high-buttoned lace-edged collar with flowers printed beneath. The box has a large decorated label stuck inside the lid, which is printed gold and white and reads, "FRYS PURE CONCENTRATED COCOA." There is a picture of the Bristol factory and underneath, "prepared by a new and special scientific process securing extreme solubility and developing the best flavour of the cocoa."

Inscribed on back, 'View of Bristol as it appeared during the Dreadful Riots on the night of Sunday October 30 1831 when the New Prison and two Toll Houses seen on the right of the picture, the Bishop's Palace near the Cathedral, in the centre the Mansion House, Customs House, Excise House and nearly 30 dwelling houses and warehouses in Queen Square and Streets adjacent were plundered and property to the amount of £100,000 Sterling being totally destroyed'.
