Jacket, part of ladies skirt suit, made of blue linen with grey lining. Double breasted jacket, long sleeved, fastened with 3 (out of 6) blue buttons with gold trim. There are two concealed poppers to fasten the top and bottom of the buttoned panel to the main body of the jacket. The left side of the front opening has a decorative seam of yoke stitching which forms the centre panel. There are two seams, one at the front and one at the back which join the small underarm sections to the 3 main panels (the back, the left front and the right front) There are 5 panels overall in this jacket. There are two small back shoulder darts and a squarish cut turn to the down collar. It has long full length fitted sleeves which are set in at the shoulder. (525mm in length) There are slightly rusty pinholes on the front at on the right hand side that have been caused due to a rusty pin holding in the label "Brooks Cleaners", "Thorn" and in Waist band for skirt "2 weeks" , "700432". There is an interior label that states: "Fortnum & Mason, original design by Harvey Gould". One of the 6 buttons has been replaced with a slightly different button (bottom right). Fully lined.

Ladies pale turquoise waist length wool jacket. Back waist curving up at the sides. One large white button centre front, mother of pearl shine. The rever collar comes down to the button to form a low cut 'V' line. Long dolman sleeves. Shaped with darts and pleats at the back. There are two long vertical darts at waist height at the front of the item along with two darts that come down from the shoulder. The hem of the jacket is much higher at the front of the piece than it is at the back. There is a seam at the back of the jacket that runs parallel to the hem, 90mm above it. Four large darts come away from that seam, shaping it at the back. Its lined with a green shiny fabric. The arms are 530mm in length and the jacket itself is 570mm in length. An interior label states: "Guaranteed Pure Wool"

Sleeveless, scoop-necked dance dress, shaped to figure (to almost knee length) with narrow horizontal band above knee and very full (300mm) frill below. Fabric: gauzy pale blue woven material, with machine embroidered all-over floral sprig pattern. The dress has soft gathers at neckline, and two vertical pleats and waist to give bust/waist shaping. The round neckline is lower at the front than at the back. The dress is loosely shaped to follow figure contours to almost knee level. The dress fasteners on the left side seam, with an opening from armhole to hip level, closed with a hook and eye and 5 press studs. A 40mm deep band of self fabric runs horizontally around the skirt at mid-thigh level, and below is attached a very full frill, also self fabric. The frill is constructed from shaped gives and is gathered into the band. Also attached below the frill, for support are fabric layers as follows: (all similarly gathered to the band) A pale blue ribbed synthetic fabric, a layer of pink net with attached decorations of pink ribbon bows, and textile roses and leaves in pink an blue, and finally a layer of pink net. These petticoat decorations are only at the front of the dress. In the centre of the dress band there is a bow attached230mm wide with a large pale pink textile rose in the centre. This is attached by the green, thread covered wire 'stalk'. The bow ends have green piled textile 'leaves' sewn onto them and the rose and leaves are all decorated with attached paste 'diamonds'. The dress has a lining of the pleat blue ribbed fabric, which reaches almost the full length of the garment. It is haped with 4 vertical darts at the waist at the front and back. Two of the back darts have been unpicked and resewn for expanded width. The slip is attached to the dress at the neck and armholes. It fastens at the left side seam with a 370mm metal/fabric zip (pale blue) from armhole to hip. It is a sheath-like slip with a circumference of 1060mm at the skirt hem.
