Prior to 1893 the River Frome flowed where St. Augustine's Bridge now stands, and the drawbridge linked St. Augustine's Parade with Clare Street. The shipping here shown lies near the quay from which Cabot sailed on his voyage of discovery. The drawing shows in the distance the tower of St Werburgh's Church, which has since been removed, as well as the towers and spire of St. Stephen's, Christ Church and All Saints." Postally unused.
