: Percussion target rifle built with a military P53 barrel by George Gibbs, Bristol. Round steel barrel with flattened top. Constructed with a false breech, the top flat engraved 'George Gibbs, 29 Corn Street, Bristol; .577Governmt. Bore.' Platinum safety vent. Bayonet mounting bar at muzzle. Raised blade fore-sight and adjustable ramp rear-sight. Brass chain nipple guard. Retained to the stock with 2 barrel slides, each with steel escutcheons. Three-quarter walnut stock with chequered wrist and fore-end; iron furniture comprising; butt plate, trigger guard and 3 ramrod pipes. White metal rondel and sling swivel on underside of butt. Horn fore-end cap. Ramrod missing. Flat percussion lock with border line engraving and marked 'George Gibbs'. Retained to the stock by 2 sidenails.
