: Mug: 'RELEASE MANDELA' with an image of Nelson Mandela behind bars (this was the only image many people had seen of Mandela before he was released). 'Anti-Apartheid Movement/ Matthews Ntshiwa, a Black South African factory worker, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for having the words ''RELEASE NELSON MANDELA'' inscribed on his tea mug. In court he said ''I only used to drink tea out of the mug.'' FREE NELSON MANDELA AND ALL SOUTH AFRICAN AND NAMIBIAN POLITICAL PRISONERS!' 'MADE IN ENGLAND' stamped on the bottom.
