Chinese mountain-water painting, album. Ink & colour on silk, mounted on paper. Man in misty forest. This painting was painted in response to an ancient Chinese poem called In My Lodge at Wangchuan after a Long Rain (积雨辋川庄作), written by Wang Wei, a famous poet of Tang Dynasty. Wang Chuan (辋川) is located in Lantian (蓝田) , Xian City, Shanxi Province. Inscriptions: Over the quiet paddy field flies some white egrets (漠漠水田飞白鹭), orioles are singing in the full summer trees (阴阴夏木啭黄鹂). Spurious signed by Songnian (松年). Dated in the tenth lunar mounth (小阳月, Xiao Yang Yue) of the first year of Jianzhongjingguo (建中靖国元年) (AD 1101).
