The Bristol Pullman triplane evolved from the Bristol Braemar, a heavy bomber designed by Frank Barnwell in 1917. The end of World War I eased the demand for this type of aircraft and the Pullman was created as a civil transport for two crew and 14 passengers. Built by The Bristol Aeroplane Company, the Pullman flew in May 1920 and was exhibited at the International Aero Show at Olympia in July. While it created a sensation at the show, on account of its size and lavish interior, it was not popular with the test pilots and dismantled later the same year.
