Description: a framed colour drawing on paper, showing: a half-length portrait of a seated Stanley William Evans JP (1894-1963); the sitter was a printer by trade (note the lapel badge - showing a hand with a drawing implement - which is possibly linked to the Society of Lithographic Artists, Designers and Engravers, or SLADE, a British trade union representing printing industry workers); however, it was his work for the Trade Union Movement and Labour Party that earned him an OBE in1950 for outstanding public services; in 1962 he became Sheriff of Bristol; a memorial exhibition was held at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery in 1964
