This satirical print by William Hogarth shows the sort of club that McNeill and other merchants frequented, supposed to be St John's coffee house in London. It features a large bowl of rum punch on the table and men in various stages of drunkenness. Tobacco is consumed in large amounts alongside the alcohol. Hogarth is passing comment on well-known individuals and types - soldiers, lawyers, politicians, businessmen and churchmen
