Richard Long (born 1945), uses nature to make his art and has worked in many of the remote landscapes of the world. In his own words: 'I hope to make images and ideas that resonate in the imagination, which mark the earth and the mind'. England 1968 is an early example of his work. It is a record of a walk on the Downs at Clifton in Bristol, where he cut the cross of England's flag into a field of daisies.
