: bowl: Monteith

: Glazed earthenware deep bowl with rounded sides curving in to a wide hollow ogee foot. It has two scrolled handles; its rim has ten round cut-outs and the rim is moulded. It is painted in blue on a pale blue glaze. On the exterior of the bowl there are painted scenes including: four variations of flowering rocks with birds and insects; between the rim cut-outs there are shaped lappets of flowers reversed out on a blue ground; on the foot there isa flower/leaf meander with dots and above there is a three-brick band. On the interior of the pot there is a flowering grass spray.
