Description: Gentleman seated writing, slightly stooped. Elegantly dressed in tailcoat, cravat, trousers, shoes tied with bows. Gothic chair with floor-length fringed upholstery. Sitter's right arm rests on Gothic pedestal table and he is writing on a piece of paper: 'Remarks on // Law Road'; paper scroll projects from under chair. On a square base. Finished with an all-over creamy-yellow surface.
