: Candlestick with removable branches. Shaped square base with scroll edges, shell in centre of each side, mask-heads representing Seasons at corners; raised platform in centre with circular plinth from which rises knopped shaft; linked circles on bottom knop, faceted centre knop, sloped shoulders below socket with acanthus and mask-heads; octagonal socket with cushion base, raised rosettes, interlaced scrolls, moulded rim. Two-arm branch fits into socket: from scrolled centre, two branches scroll up and round finial curving up to octagonal sockets decorated as centre one, with petal drip-pans, alternate petals matted. The branches sheathed in scrolling leaves and flower. Swirled finial in centre with leaf scrolls, shell, flowers. Engraved crest on base: quartered lozenge in leaf-scroll mantling.
