: White body, blue-tinted glaze. Circular plate with shaped edge, concave flange, moulded footrim. Decorated with underglaze-blue transfer prints: floral border comprising three repeats of three different flower clusters - 2 flowers, 3 flowers, 6 flowers - with leaves; in centre, the Bristol coat-of-arms: shield bearing a sailing ship issuing from behind castle, 2 unicorn supporters, motto 'VIRTUTE ET INDUSTRIA'. Narrow geometric border inside rim and around centre. Three single stilt marks under flange. Lighter blue than usual and print slightly fuzzy.
