: 'Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden': Adam & Eve stand either side of tree, she with long ginger hair, offers Adam an apple, he wears belt of leaves. In tree, a monkey, two squirrels and a peacock; anti-clockwise around tree, a dove, turkey, robin, bird, ?deer, parrot, butterfly, lion, 2 rabbits, snake, ??, bird, ?ostrich, porcupine, 2 ?cats, flamingo, blue butterfly, giraffe, 3 doves. Grassy ground, rest of picture filled with flowers. Worked in long stitch on cream ribbed ground. Apples and flesh coloured in watercolour. Black and gilt frame. Exhibition label: 'Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden' c.1925. Silk and wool. Janet ELizabeth Fry was born in London. She married her cousin Roderick Fry, Chairman of Messrs J.S. Fry & Sons Ltd., and they lived for many years at thePriory, Abbots Leigh, just outside Bristol. Mrs Fry was a prolific needle-woman. At the age of 55 she began working embroideries for the Church and in 20 years produced over 200 items.
