: Printed design in colours on squared paper for Berlin woolwork; main oval flower group with three passion flowers, lilies, violets, etc amid leaves; two small flower sprays, two different borders in top corners, two passion-flower spandrels in bottom corners; inset showing complete design. Inscribed across top: 'YOUNG LADIES' JOURNAL DESIGNS FOR PIANO MAT, TOP OF BOX OTTOMAN, OR HEARTHRUG.-BORDERS, CORNERS, AND BOUQUETS SUITABLE FOR A VARIETY OF PURPOSES. AUGUST 1ST 1872. ' across bottom: ' Messrs. BEDFORD & Co.,186 Regent Street, and 46 Goodge Street, Tottenham Court Road, supply materials for working the above design for A Piano Mat or Box Ottoman, for 6/9; Silk for the lighter shades 2/- extra; Materials // in double Wool and Canvas, for Hearthrug, for 19/6. The Subscribers to The Young Ladies' Journal can have the work beautifully mounted as a Box Ottoman for 40/. The Borders are suitable for Braces, Table Covers, or Sofa // Cushions, and the small Bouquets for Mats, Cigar cases, and a variety of other purposes. Limited space prevents the prices for all these being announced, but upon application to Messrs.BEDFORD & Co. they will quote the prices. '
