: Rectangle of cream wool flannel joined to a half-sleeve shaped piece with running stitch, the raw edges herringboned; the lower half of the seam left open and strengthened with cream silk ribbon. Rectangle: top and side edges bound with cream silk ribbon, deep hem at bottom with two rows of feather stitching, one with added French knots; herringboned square patch, darn, tape stitched to back. Sleeve piece: herringboned placket, top edges pleated into a white cotton cuffs which fasten together with a covered button and a worked buttonhole; side herringboned; deep tuck, row of feather stitching, herringboned hem; bottom edge scalloped and buttonhole-stitched; a tape stitched to front, two tapes stitched to cuffs.
