Eight rows of lettering: 'A-Z a-z A-Z A-Z (twice, italic script) a-z (italic) 1-9 0 (twice) A-Z (gothic script) A-Z' ; line of scrolls; rhyme between flower basket above and flower spray below; motifs arranged symmetrically on each side: books, peacocks, flower baskets, roses, trees, butterflies, swans, hearts, stars; female figure bottom centre above signature. Signed at bottom centre. Verse: 'Jesus my all to heaven is gone // He whom i fix my hopes upon // His track I see and Ill pursue // The narrow way till him I view /// Then will I tell to sinners round // What a dear saviour I have found // Ill point to thy redeeming blood // And say behold the way to god' In later black and gilt frame.
