Description: Coloured silks on wool, brown-stripe selvedges at top and bottom, all edges bound with pale blue silk ribbon. Cross, Algerian eye stitches. Geometric border; ten rows of lettering in upper two-thirds: 'A-Z a-z A-Z (twice, italic script) a-z (italic) A-Z (gothic script) A-Z' '1-5' inserted at ends of rows; in lower third, motifs arranged symmetrically around a flower basket and bunch of flowers: roses, books, birds, stars, flower baskets. Signed below lettering. Text below large flower basket: 'My Father thou art The guide of my youth' [Jeremiah 3:4] In later black and gilt frame.
