: Coloured silks on wool, blue-stripe selvedges at sides, top and bottom hemmed. Cross, four-sided stitches. Stylised floral meander border; verse within a geometric border on three sides; across bottom, a large basket of roses between two cornucopiae and small flower baskets. Signed between verses. Verse: 'Lord permit thy gracious name to stand // As the first effort of an infant hand // And while her fingers on the canvas move // Engage her tender thoughts to seek thy love // With thy dear Children let her have a part // And write thy name tyself upon her heart' Remember Time will Come when we must give // Account to God how we on Earth do live' In gilt frame.
