: Coloured silks on wool, brown-stripe selvedges at sides, top and bottom hemmed. Pink hanging loop. Cross stitch. Honeysuckle meander border; three blocks of text divided by row of small motifs and geometric lines; below texts, flower pot between two trees. 'MAP' in bottom section. Signed and dated across bottom. Texts: 'And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace goodwill toward men' [Luke 2: 13,14] 'Lord now lettest thou thy servant depart In peace according to thy word For mine eyes have seen thy salvation Which thou hast prepared before the face Of all people a light to lighten the gentiles And the glory of thy people Israel' [Luke 2:29-32] 'Remember now thy creator in the days of thy youth while the evil days come not nor the years draw nigh when thou shalt say I have no pleasure in them'.
