: Twenty page programme for the Goram Fair, July 27th - August 10th 1957, Blaise Castle Estate. Price 6d. Printed in blue and yellow on white. Attractions included Chas. Heal's Giant Amusement Park, a fireworks display, Clown Les, Yelding's Children's Circus, pony rides, children's trasure hunt, Goram Follies, a talent contest, a balloon race, children's sports, folk dancing, and a beer garden. 'Special attractions in the arenas' included an aerial show, a wild west motorcycle rodeo, Karin on the Swaying Pole at 125 feet, a slide of death, The Three Carmellos and Spitfire the Unridable Mule (July 27th-31st); Derrico, Britain's Boy Wonder Aerialist, Leone on 90ft swaying mast, The Mercury Riders (motorcycling tricks and thrills), and Bowdler's Wild Pony Rodeo riding competitions (August 1st, 2nd & 3rd); The Greatest Aerial Show in Europe: The Traber Renz Troupe from Germany- motor-cycle and car crash show, Claude and Chappie, the Belgian High Wire Comedy Team, The Thrilling Swaying Stars and Whirlwinds, and Joszi Smaha-Vinicky Display of High School Horse Riding (August 8th, 9th & 10th). Marching and playing bands were The Regimental Band of the Royal Fusiliers, The Uganda Band of the Queen's African Rifles, The Hilldenians, English Champions Carnival Band, The Band of the Gloucestershire Regiment, and Swansea Juvenile Jazz Band. This year was said to be Goram's 5002nd Birthday. 2,000 pieces of Huntley and Palmer cake were to be 'given to the kiddies'. Programme published by Mail Marketing, 70 Park Street.
