Description: Fire insurance mark. Lead, oval plaque with 'Bristol Universal Fire Office' inscription in the centre in raised letters. The plaque is surmounted by a fire bucket and supported on either side by a fire man. The plaque is painted and much of the original colouring is still intact. The policy number (529) is painted below the plaque. Late 18th Century.
