Object Name: washing machine

Description: Hand operated washing machine comprising a galvanised iron tub on a wooden (softwood) trestle frame with lift off lid. The wooden frame is painted dark brown. Inside the tub are are two cradles comprising wooden (beech) slats held in iron frames which can be moved by a substantial wooden handle at one end of the machine. Soap tray at opposite end to handle. Drain for waste water in tub bottom - plug missing. Inscription on either side in black.
