: WT Set, Trench CW Mk3

: Military wireless transmitter and receiver, the WT Set, Trench CW Mk 3, c1916, used in the First World War. Main panel carries two thermionic valves, two knobs labelled Coupling and Variometer, switch labelled Aerial Tuning Inductance and holder for 24 hour watch (watch not present). Printed instructions on paper stuck onto inside of lid. In black painted wooden case with black painted canvas top cover and leather carrying strap. Fold-out morse key on front panel. Hinged door on left side to storage section containing battery, earth and aerial leads. Painted inscription 3007 on front and Retested 29/4/20 and Mk.II on rear. Folding alloy legs beneath to form a stand.
