: head band

: The band is made from a piece of bark covered with bark cloth stitched at the back. The front is decorated with zig zag fibre stitches and is painted white outside the stitching, black inside the zig zag and red all down the centre of the band. The bark cloth extends approx. 33cm on either side to act as ties. Fawn and red/brown fibres hang from one side of the bark, plaited and stitched to form a thick frill. This is an armlet or a forehead band.
