Description: Pair of flintlock holster pistols. Round iron barrel, slightly swelling at the muzzle and the breech. The engraved breech stamped with proof marks of the London Gunmakers Company. Secured to the stock by 2 barrel pins. Plain walnut full stock with raised apron around the barrel tang. Engraved brass furniture comprising butt cap, escutcheon, trigger guard, flat sideplate and 2 ramrod pipes. Wooden ramrod with brass tip and iron worm. Engraved flintlock of rounded form signed “W Staples”. Secured to the stock by 2 sidenails. With gunflints Perhaps intentional patination remains in interstices of brass.
