Dwell Together in Unity' is the motto of the BWICC. The Club was founded in 1963, and this badge was worn by founder member, Guy Reid-Bailey. BWICC is not exclusively African-Caribbean but brings together members from different backgrounds, all united by a love for cricket.
Official handbook for Bristol West Indian Cricket Club, 2007
Guy Reid-Bailey recalls that many teams in the 1960s would refuse to play the BWICC
because its members were black. The team regularly had to travel 50 miles or more for a
match, often accompanied by six coach-loads of supporters.
