The Khanda is one of the most important Sikh symbols and is found on the NishanSahib (Sikh holy flag) in Gurdwaras.
The symbol is made up from a central double-edged sword (khanda), a circle (chakkar) and two inter-locking single edged swords (kirpans).
The doorhandles of the Bristol Sikh Temple form the shape of the khanda when closed.
