Description: Spanish, painted silk folding fan. Painted silk leaf (reverse leaf of plain gauze). Obverse painted with three figures in Spanish costume. A seated woman playing a guitar, standing girl and standing boy in toreador's costume, in a rural setting with tiled balustrade and tower in the background. Printed gold scrolled border. Pierced, painted and gilded ivory sticks and guards. Sticks pierced with floral oval design, painted in silver, yellow and mauve. Both guards matching, obverse guard more elaborate decorated. Metal pivot and gilded textured hanger.
