: Circular plate. Printed decoration: in centre, the Arms of Bristol; on flange a border of rd and blue leaves on a gilt stem and the Arms of Edward III. Commemorating 'Bristol 600'. Printed inscription on back: 'The Bristol Charter Plate // 1373-1973 // With the approval of // the Lord Lieutenant and Lord High Steward // of Bristol, this [late has been created // to commemorate the six hundredth anniversary // of the granting by King Edward III of the Charter // which raised Bristol to the dignity of County. // Of six hundred plates this is number 159'. In blue presentation box with leaflet and certificate signed 'Beaufort'.
