: Palissy-type ware. Baluster-shaped vase on pedestal foot, two handles formed from writhing snakes; applied animals & insects - a snail, a crocodile baring its teeth at a lizard on each side; berried ivy trail around base of body; four shells on foot. Maiolica-type coloured glazes: streaky blue, green and purple on body, blue and yellow on foot, streaky purple inside.
