: Tunic made of soft beige coloured buckskin with beaded and fringed decoration. Both front and back have a beaded panel to form a yoke using small beads in blue, black,white, red and pink. The lower edge is scalloped and similarly beaded with a hide fringe. T-shaped with open sleeves. Seam at each side with fringing. At the hem there are various pieces of hide added to. On the corner of the hem, there are three curves of beadwork with a stroud cloth square in the centre in red and black. Fringing on the front and back is decorated with either red or white beadwork, blue beadwork or a tiny circle of stroud cloth. Neck also bound with red stroud cloth. There are some holes in the hide from missing thonging or beadwork decoration. Tied to the shoulder is a small handwritten historic label from the Commonwealth Institute 'Canada Indian’s buckskincoat' on the reverse 'Commonwealth Institute S.W. 7' Stamped diagonally across 'COMMONWEALTH INSTITUTE'.
