: Burmese skirt - rare Kachin women's skirt {? Burma 1940}. Very fine weaving in a diamond pattern. Hand woven in red wool with coloured wool geometric patterns. The fabric is a flat rectangle consisting of three strips of fabric 240 mm wide which is joined lengthways by hand. Woven with a black warp. Top panel in black with coloured weaving at each end. The skirt is held up with bamboo rings 2000/037/051.
