: Swahili textile from ?Tanzania/Tanganyika, a Kanga or Kanika. Cotton, two lengths uncut with a green strip between them with white dots showing the cutting lines. Rectangular shaped and printed in black and green on a white ground with two identical 1655mm panels, side by side. In the centre of the panels is a black and green Africa shaped motif with a mountain and a hand holding a flaming torch. Underneath is the wording 'TANZANIA REPUBLIC DAY 1966'. The background has a black, green and white design. The border is striped with paisley shaped motifs. On the green selvedge are the words - "CHINA KHANGA-SOLE IMPORTERS COSATA-INTRATA"
