: Kachin textile (a,b) a) Rectangular woven cloth - natural coloured ground with terracotta and black floating weft, geometric design in stripes along the length of the fabric. 6 panels in alternating patterns. Terracotta dye shows signs of bleeding. Could be a waist band, belt or table runner. b) Strip of hand woven cloth probably made on a back strap loom. Natural cotton ground with panels of floating weft design in black and burgundy - divided into 14 patterns in alternating colours, 8 columns with an alternating design of diamonds and geometric blocks. Burgundy has bled with washing. Cut ends with a short fringing.
